Step back in time and celebrate the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of those who paved the way before us. This special event is a tribute to their legacy and a reminder of the strength that comes from walking in faith.

Pioneer Booth Ideas for Wards
Each ward should prepare 1 booth
As part of this celebration, we’re inviting each ward to host a booth that brings pioneer life to life! Booths can be interactive, educational, fun, or faith-centered—anything that helps our stake family connect with the pioneer experience.
Historical / Educational

Handcart Experience: Let participants pull a small handcart with weighted items to feel what pioneers might have felt.

Pioneer Life Display: Set up a “living museum” with period items like washboards, butter churns, and clothing.

Family History Station: Help attendees look up an ancestor or write a brief “pioneer” story of their own family.

Map the Trek: Display the pioneer trail and invite guests to mark places their ancestors might’ve passed.

Rag Doll or Button Toy Making: Simple, old-timey toys kids can make and take home.

Quilt Square Painting: Paint quilt patterns on paper squares to be joined in a stake display.

Ward Side Dish Assignment Guide
Each ward should contribute - (6 Sides + 4 Desserts)
As part of our stake Pioneer Day celebration, we’re asking each ward to contribute 10 total food items—6 side dishes and 4 desserts—or enough to feed your ward (whichever is greater) to help feed an expected crowd of 500 people. The stake will provide hamburgers and hot dogs as the main course.
To keep things balanced and enjoyable, we ask each ward to bring a variety of side dishes and desserts. Please avoid sending all one type of dish. A good mix will help make the meal enjoyable for everyone.

General Guidelines:

Each dish should serve 15–20 people (approx. 9x13 pan, large bowl, or tray).

Use disposable containers and serving utensils.
-
Label dishes with the name and any common allergens (e.g., contains nuts, dairy, gluten).

Choose foods that hold up well in warm weather.
-
Please cover dishes with lids or foil to protect from sun and bugs.

Deliver all dishes to the food service area by 4:45 PM on the day of the event.
