Meet the Randles
Senior Missionaries - Member and Leader Support

Elder Russell Randle and Sister Julie Randle are serving as full-time Member and Leader Support senior missionaries in the Yucaipa Stake. Originally from northern Utah, they bring with them 45 years of marriage, a deep love for the Savior Jesus Christ, and a sincere desire to serve and strengthen others. Elder and Sister Randle work closely with stake and ward leaders, young missionaries, and members to support fellowship, gospel learning, and temple preparation. They are grateful to serve alongside the wonderful members of the Yucaipa Stake and are eager to assist in the work of gathering Israel in any way they can.

Their Story

Where are you originally from, and where were you living most recently before your mission?
We’re both from northern Utah and were raised in Bountiful. We recently moved to Peterson, Utah, a small community up Weber Canyon in the Morgan Valley.

How long have you been married, and would you like to share anything about your family (children, grandchildren, etc.)?
We have been married for 45 years and have four children and eight grandchildren. Three of our children are married and live in Utah. One is single and deployed to South Korea with the United States Air Force. Our grandchildren all live in Utah and range in age from 1 to 16.

What is your current assignment as senior missionaries in the Yucaipa Stake?
We’ve been called to serve in the Yucaipa Stake as full-time Member and Leader Support (MLS) missionaries. In this capacity, we support stake and ward leaders in their stewardship over the members of the stake. We serve with the young missionaries to find, teach, and nurture new members. We meet with stake leaders, bishoprics, ward mission leaders, and ward councils to minister and assist new and existing members as they develop friendships and become incorporated into wards. We can help members learn more about the gospel and prepare to go to the temple. We are here to help you. We also assist the CSBM Mission Leaders, President and Sister Oligshlaeger, as needed.

In what ways might stake or ward members most commonly work with you?
We are here to assist you in the work of gathering Israel. Please call us, text us, or visit with us at church and let us know what you would like help with.

We’ve been rotating buildings each week and attending all the wards. If you have other helpful suggestions, please let us know.
We’re happy to visit members, help teach new members about the gospel and the temple, and help them get to the temple. We are open to suggestions.

Please involve us however you’d like—game nights, Family Home Evening, dinners out, sports, etc.

What are a few hobbies or interests you enjoy, either individually or together?
We both love to mountain bike, ski (both water and snow), hike, golf, pickleball, sports of all kinds, photography, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

We are always up for adventure.

We also have a humanitarian NGO that is building a school complex in Africa and doing outreach to villages, which is a big part of our lives (azimbabweschool.org).

What has brought you the most joy so far in serving a senior mission?
Serving a mission as eternal companions has been amazing. Our love, respect, and adoration for each other have increased as we have devoted our lives to serving our Savior, Jesus Christ, as full-time missionaries. It’s an unexpected but fabulous blessing.

We feel great joy serving side-by-side with the young missionaries as they find, teach, and visit new members and new friends in the Yucaipa Stake area. It’s amazing how much people in this area love to talk about Jesus Christ.

Would you like to share a brief testimony or personal thought about serving a senior mission?

We are both so thankful to be serving here with the members and leaders in the Yucaipa Stake. Our testimonies have already been strengthened by you all. We feel very blessed to be with the young missionaries and to be part of their daily miracles and energy. They are inspiring to us, and we are so thankful for their service. It is truly an honor to work with them. Christ is such a part of our lives, and we feel His love as we have become part of the gathering of Israel. Our love for each other and for all of you has grown so much in such a short time.Love, Elder Randle

I feel that every day is a gift from God, and I want to live in such a way that my gratitude for each day blesses the lives of others. As I deepen my discipleship of Jesus Christ, I know that my Savior lives. I testify of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, which offers us the great gift of repentance and the promise of redemption and eternal life with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our eternal families. I have a testimony and love of the Book of Mormon. It is a vital companion to the Bible in testifying of Jesus Christ and His gospel. I’m grateful to be serving a senior mission with Elder Randle and to be among the wonderful people of the Yucaipa Stake.Much love, Sister Randle
