What is LDS Prom?

LDS Prom is a youth dance sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints designed to provide a fun, uplifting, and memorable experience similar to a school prom while maintaining Church standards. Our goal is to create a safe, positive environment where youth can socialize, celebrate friendships, and enjoy music and dancing while feeling comfortable and included.

Age Requirements

Youth must be 16 or older by March 14, 2026. Attendees must be under 18, or 18 and currently in high school, on the day of the event.

Do attendees need to be members of the Church?

No. Friends of all faiths are welcome as long as they meet the age requirements and are willing to follow the dress, behavior, and conduct standards for the dance.

Is there a Dress Code?

Yes. Because this is a church-sponsored event, attire should reflect appropriate standards of modesty and respect while still allowing youth to dress up and enjoy a prom-style evening. Formal attire is encouraged. Clothing should be modest, appropriate, and not extreme.

We encourage youth and parents to review the principles taught in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices when selecting attire.

What standards of behavior are expected?

All youth are expected to conduct themselves in a way that reflects Christlike behavior and respect for others.

This includes:

Appropriate language
Respectful interactions
Modest and appropriate dancing
Following instructions from adult leaders and chaperones

The dance should be a place where the Spirit can be present and where everyone feels safe and comfortable.

Will dinner be provided?

Yes. Dinner is included with admission to the Church Prom. Youth do not need to bring additional food or money for a meal. We ask that attendees plan to eat at the event and follow any posted guidelines regarding food and drink to help keep the building clean and enjoyable for everyone.

What is the cost?

The cost this year is $85 per couple.

Can I attend with a friend of the same gender?

This event is designed to promote dating etiquette. Participants should attend with a date of the opposite gender.

Can I attend alone or with a group?

This event is intended to promote dating etiquette. Participants may attend as couples, and multiple couples are welcome to come together as a group.
